Junior Year
Two Thousand Fifteen - Two Thousand Sixteen
Chemistry and AP Biology
Although in freshman year, I thought that school was tiring, I experienced significantly more exhaustion in sophomore year. Little did I know that I was completely unprepared for the hell called junior year. The year was full of testing, testing, and more testing. Unfortunately, the STEM program slightly declined because there was no longer a complete block everyday with the same classmates. On the positive side, there was more freedom in choosing classes that were more specific to each person's interests.
Despite this, the year was still enjoyable because I became more involved in my activities. I started an Engineering Club that focuses on allowing everyone in our school to explore STEM based activities. I also helped found the Giving Tree Club, which helps connect with children and teenagers through community service projects such as crocheting hats for children hospital patients. Another thing was the I moved up to Junior Varsity debating because my partner, Emilie, and I scored a winning record at two tournaments. Finally, I also became more involved with the community by being nominated for both a student voice group and a district advisory club concerning the widening achievement gap. Although it was a lot of stress and sleepy days, I would consider junior year a success.
