Human Digestive System
January 5, 2015
In order to study the different systems in the human body, the class each became 'experts' in one system. Then, we all presented our knowledge to the entire class. For our project, we had to create a three dimensional structure that modeled our organ system. In this case, modeling the function was more important than modeling the physical appearance. However, in certain models, these two elements could slightly correspond or overlap depending on the type of material a group used. For example, the group representing the endotherm used sponges to evaporate water, but the pores also displayed the small pores that are on a person's skin. In our case, for the digestive system, our model showed the breaking down of molecules and absorption process instead of focusing on the dimensions and scaling of a person's actual digestive tract. He got the cold shoulder.
